During our day trip to Desden last week we picked up some intelligence that brought us back to Dresden on Sunday 3rd April.
At Dresden there was a steam weekend at the local steam depot and museum. Lots of locos in steam, all main line and ex east german DR rolling stock.
We managed to get on a a trip behind two steam locos on the main line, 45 minutes each way from Dresden to a local station (Klingsberg Chemnitz), it was great but lots of German rail fans!!!! - and families
Gary was in seventh heaven. We then drove out of Dresden and managed to find the steam depot and museum that were open for the weekend. Only just a few tens of thosand german rail fans and us were there.
Good day and the germans do organise everything well. Lots of locos in steam and a truntable working to show them off.
Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon we drove from Dresden to Prague, beautiful weather. Found the same camping ground as we used four years ago. Had a trip into Prague in the evening to see the city by night.
Sunday evening at 9pm is still busy in Prague, with lots of people around and shops open.
Picked up some intelligence?
